Art has been a part of my life since I was old enough to use crayons. As a child, I didn’t have a lot of toys, so I would draw instead.
Encouragement from my family and teachers helped me continue in art through my teen years, and since 1991, at age fourteen, I have been doing artwork on commission and for exhibition. I primarily do pencil drawings and paintings in acrylic. Most are portaits for customers from photographs, or concepts they want illustrated.
I have been doing art on a more full-time basis since 2009. After my job at the time was downsized, it was a wake up call for me to use the talent God gave me and not let it lie dormant.
Art is more than just a job for me: it’s a passion and a part of who I am. When I paint or draw, I throw myself into my art, not just to beat the clock to meet the deadline, but rather to put an energy and vitality into the work that will truly bless the one who receives it.
I currently live in Eau Claire, WI with my wife Leah and children, Matthias and Eden.
