The theme I am pursuing in my work is emotion. I’d like to somehow make visible the emotion I feel as I create each piece. By letting go of any preconceived ideas and thought processes when I create, I allow myself to just feel whatever emotion is coursing through me and let that guide me. One viewer might see a painting and feel hopeful, and another viewer may feel relaxed. No matter what you see though, it’s more important what you feel. Because that feeling, I believe, is a response to the emotion that radiates from the artwork, part of the same emotion that flows through me when I create. So, it is true emotion that I hope to convey through my work.
